Hal Pickel

Tennessee

During his nine-year career in advertising, Hal worked on both award-winning ad campaigns by day and canvases by night. In 2006, he broke away to paint full time, and now travels country roads capturing the American farmers on sketchpads and film.

Pickel brings his studio the age-old relationship between harvest and hand. Drawing from his design background he adds mixed media atop deep-layered acrylic on canvas. The rich texture laid by palette knife and brush beg to be touched.

Pickel has shown in numerous galleries in Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham and New Orleans. Many of these galleries have breathed life into Two Moon Gallery where he is the director today.
