Once a jazz musician and a sculptor, Scott French isn’t short on being talented in any expression of art. French’s expressions can now be found in three diverse collections which come with a common thread of emotion as displayed through his brush strokes. This Georgia born and bred artist plays on the simple yet strong human desires for food, flesh and the natural world around us.
A culinary adventure without the calories, French’s “Midnight Cravings” represent what we all want and rarely indulge in. Similarly, his figures also express emotion through the color and contrast of flesh tones and the form of the human body. Lastly, French captures vast-open landscapes in a loose and textural way that in his own words, “convey mysteries of these unrevealed vistas.”
All three collections display a strong sense of being – causing the spectator to want more.
