Tom Turner

North Carolina

Deep in the hills of Appalachia, Tom Turner continually masters an artful craft in his quiet, secluded studio. He is ever-perfecting an age-old, delicate medium that most artists find intimidating. In addition to his own body of porcelain work, turner has an impressive personal collection of hundreds of artists’ vessels dating back as far as 10 Century BC. – And it is all a part of his art.

After working with porcelain for nearly 50 years, Turner has gained international recognition in the world of contemporary art pottery, and his work has appeared in countless publications and books worldwide.

Additionally, his work is included in numerous private and public collections including United States Embassies in the Near East, Far East, Latin American and Africa. His vessels are exhibited in dozens of museums worldwide and numerous universities including the Smithsonian Institution.
